My name is Gwendolyn (Gwen) Wright. I am finishing up graduate studies in the Clinical Mental Health Counselor program with Liberty University. I anticipate completing this program at the end of the Fall semester of 2021. At that time, I plan to seek licensure as a Clinical Mental Health counselor. I have a MA in Psychology from American Public University Systems and a BS in Social Psychology and Human Resources Management from Park University. I am a military veteran and seek to be of service to those navigating through the challenges they face in life. I have a passion for helping couples, families, children, women, and veterans.

My name is Ashanti Flemister (she/her/ hers). I am currently pursuing a Master's in Social Work degree at the Ohio State University and interning at Meadows Counseling Group. My anticipated graduation date is Summer 2022. I had obtained my bachelor’s degree in Psychology at North Carolina A&T in 2005. My employment background consists of 12 years of case management experience in child welfare and community mental health. I have a passion for empowering young adults and helping them identify their own strengths to cope with life stressors and to overcome depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem.

I am Lacey Smalldon (She/Her/Hers), born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and currently working towards my Masters In Social Work at The Ohio State University. I work as a generalist, ready to support individuals through a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, difficult life adjustments and more. I have a particular interest in maternal mental health, and the interactions of generational trauma and perinatal mental health. Through a client centered approach, I believe the individuals I work with are the experts of their own lives and their own challenges, and that my role is to help support their process by offering a fresh perspective on their struggles and providing tools to help facilitate the clients own healing. Our goals together are to help develop coping skills, to curiously and courageously engage the challenges presenting themselves, and to find the purpose and the power within them. I am a wife and mother to two beautiful, spirited children, and In my free time I love to garden, teach traditional herbal medicine, and go on long runs outdoors.

About Our Interns

Meadows Counseling is staffed by graduate level interns in the final semesters of their academic program from local universities. They are under supervision by licensed therapists. Our interns work closely with their supervisors and other staff to give clients the best care possible. Our interns are currently offering both virtual and in-person counseling sessions. In-person sessions are subject to compliance with current local public health orders/mandates etc.
