Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
Sep 05, 2025
September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month - a time to shine a light on one of the most urgent mental health challenges of our time. Talking about suicide can feel uncomfortable, but silence can be dangerous. Every life matters, and breaking the silence can save lives.
Here’s what we need to know: suicide is often preventable. Warning signs might look like withdrawal, hopelessness, or sudden mood changes. If you notice these in someone you love, don’t be afraid to ask the hard question - "Are you thinking about suicide?" That conversation could be life-saving.
Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Resources like the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline are available 24/7 to provide immediate support.
This month, let’s break the stigma, have courageous conversations, and remind ourselves and others - you are not alone, and hope is always within reach.
